What type of Hoodia should I buy?
I’m interested in using Hoodia to help me lose a few pounds…generally, I’ll just use it at night or when I’m working because those are the two times that I tend to over eat (at night, it’s hard for me to sleep unless I eat a little before hand, and it’s obviously not good to eat right before sleep, and at work I always buy crap because that’s all that’s available).
I see all kinds of hoodia products – pills, liquid, gum…what’s the best kind to get? And is there anything specific to look for when purchasing a hoodia product? I know from experience that when purchasing supplements, there’s a lot of crap out there within the same type of supplement.
Hey, fuck you two, I exercise every day (bike 10-15 miles), my problem is that I eat junk often. I figure with hoodia, a pure appetite suppresant, I can more easily overcome these cravings at work and at night. Ass holes.
I see many different types of hoodia – there is hoodia extract, hoodia gordonii (aerial stem), hoodia powder…these are all listed as the active ingredient in the various brands…what is best?
And let me clear something up – THERE IS NO WEIGHT LOSS MIRACLE DRUG. This is how these products are marketed to try and trick people into thinking that they can pop pills and lose weight. I know better than this, and I’m sure I know more about fitness and nutrition than most people answering my own question. I just don’t know about hoodia and would like to know if anyone here DOES. If you don’t, DON’T Cheap Alli Online Without Prescription ANSWER THIS QUESTION. I am using this as a supplement, a supplement to diet and exercise, to help me stop eating bad food when I have bad cravings once in a while (usually at work). Just like how I use other supplements (vitamins, protein powder, creatine) to supplement my health and body building.

neither, get off your fat ass and excercise!
That crap doesn’t work. Eat healthy and exercise.
Hoodia is just the latest in a looooong line of weight loss miracle drugs, natural remedies or whatever to come along. In your own words ‘I know from experience……..there’s a lot of crap out there’

Rich:
Your perspective on the role of supplements as part of an overall weight loss program is spot on! People like yourself that understand supplements are merely an aid (and not the solution) have the most success with them. Most people that take supplements expect them to do all the work and are severely disappointed when they don’t work like they expected because they don’t know their proper role! So kudos to you for that.
Now, regarding hoodia…it’s so easy to get lost when it comes to this seemingly mysterious supplement because there is so much misinformation out there about it. First things first…not all hoodia supplements are the same. In fact, the vast majority of them are garbage. One expert says that the percentage of fake and inferior hoodia diet pills on the market could be as high as 80%!
That being said, the first thing you want to make sure of is that you are taking an authentic hoodia supplement. Given the statistic I just mentioned, it’s easy to get scammed. There are a number of things to look for when shopping for hoodia to ensure you are getting the real thing but the two most important are CITES certificates and independent lab test results. You can read more about these and the other things to look for by reading this article:

As for the different types of hoodia, there is only one type of hoodia that I recommend because it is the most effective. That type is pure hoodia gordonii POWDER. Hoodia gums, patches, lollipops, etc. etc. are all nothing but gimmicks. Hoodia extracts are also suspect and may not even be possible to make. You can read more about the different types of hoodia here:

Once you find an authentic hoodia gordonii powder supplement (these will be in capsule form), you need to keep a few things in mind. First, it doesn’t always work. Some people simply don’t respond to hoodia. Second, hoodia can take as long as 2 weeks or more before it works so give it at least that long before you make the determination if it works or not. Finally, most people need anywhere between 2,250-3,000mg per day for it to be effective. Most of the labels will say 1,500mg per day is enough, but that’s simply not true – especially since most of the hoodia gordonii being used today is cultivated hoodia and isn’t as potent as it once was.
This should be enough information on hoodia to get you started. Good luck to you.
